Erin George is a chef, Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and the owner of Cookwell Co., a food and hospitality business located in rural Colorado high country. Originally from the Appalachian region, Erin has a passion for rural living and cooking at home. Although professionally trained, she considers herself a home cook and strives to develop recipes that are accessible within her small town. An advocate for intuitive cooking and inclusive eating, Erin delivers, teaches, and inspires people to not only love cooking again, but feel confident doing so. She incorporates a hearty portion of nutrition in most dishes but doesn’t sweat it if some meals are more about pleasure and less about health.  Erin’s rural roots make for an unfussy, relaxed approach to cooking and makes us all feel like we can not only do this ourselves, but that we can eat really good food while still maintaining a healthy, happy life. Her favorite part of her job is helping people gain confidence in the kitchen and bringing honor and excitement back to home cooking.

Erin received her Bachelor of Science in Medical Dietetics from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, and earned her culinary degree from Johnson and Wales University in Denver, Colorado. Studying medical dietetics and culinary nutrition helped her turn her love of cooking and thirst for nutrition knowledge into a fulfilling career bridging food and health for optimal living. When she isn’t cooking, you can find Erin on a run or reading a good cookbook. Erin currently resides with her family in a rural ranching community in the Colorado high country.
